[I 4/5 – 2] Exploring RGB LEDs, Potentiometers, and Switches with Tinkercad

In this lesson, students will build a Tinkercad Circuits project using three exciting components: an RGB LED, potentiometers (variable resistors), and a switch. The goal is to have fun experimenting while also learning how each part works.

An RGB LED (to make different colors)

Potentiometers (to control brightness and color mix)

A switch (to turn things on and off)

Wrap-Up

By the end of the session, students will:

  • Build a working RGB LED circuit with potentiometers and a switch.
  • See how knobs and switches give us control over electronics.
  • Understand how these parts connect to real-world devices they use every day.
