In this class, 4th and 5th graders will explore electronics basics using Tinkercad Circuits. We’ll learn how LEDs light up and why resistors matter.

The real world

We’ll start with a short video showing an LED circuit on a breadboard. This gives students a picture of what they’ll be building.

Next, students will design their own circuits in Tinkercad Circuits:

• Add a battery, breadboard, and LED.
• Connect wires and test if the light turns on.
• Try changes and fix mistakes together.

What Are LEDs?

We’ll pause to watch a video about LEDs:

• How they work differently from bulbs.
• Why they only light one way.
• Where we see them in real life.

Why Resistors?

Then we’ll learn about resistors—the parts that protect LEDs from too much electricity. Students will add one in Tinkercad and see how it changes the circuit.
